Currently at MathWorks vacancy for Wireless Communications Engineer role.

Job Summary

MathWorks is seeking a motivated software engineer with a background in wireless communication standards like Bluetooth, WLAN, LTE and 5G. You will be part of an experienced team developing the next generation of tools for wireless communications systems. You will also develop models for end-to-end communication links which include waveform generation, receiver algorithms, front-end impairments, and channel modeling. This position requires a range of skills including:

  1. MATLAB physical layer modelling of wireless communications systems
  2. Knowledge of transmitter and receiver algorithms
  3. Familiarity with wireless channel and path-loss modelling
  4. Designing, implementing, and testing of software products
  5. Developing demos illustrating different use cases of different wireless communications systems

Responsibilities:

  1. Modeling wireless communications standards like Bluetooth, WLAN, LTE and 5G in MATLAB and Simulink
  2. Model RF channels and impairments
  3. Develop examples illustrating communication end-to-end links
  4. Customer engagement to assess workflows and requirements 
  5. Contribute to all stages of software development life cycle (SDLC) of wireless standards simulation & analysis tool
  6. Working closely with other software developers, quality engineers, documentation writers, and customer facing engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of wireless communications standards like Bluetooth, WLAN, LTE and 5G
  2. Experience in physical layer modelling for wireless communications systems
  3. Experience with software defined radio (SDR) platforms
  4. Programming experience in MATLAB
  5. Familiar with Simulink
  6. Programming experience in C/C++
