Currently at Seagate Pune vacancy for Intern III- VLSI PSV role.

The group is part of Seagate’s VLSI Organization spread globally across multiple sites. Seagate designs world class controller SoCs for their HDDs. The group in Pune participates in design, verification, physical design, and silicon validation activities of these complex SoCs. This group has some of the best talents from the industry and has taped out many controller chips. 

About the role - you will:

  • Support SoC post silicon validation activities on HDD controllers via one or more of following Test firmware/utilities development
  • Assist in new PCB and SoC bring-up Work with cross functional team during debug
  • Collect debug data using standard tools like protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes
  • Execute validation tests and document results
  • Assist in PCB design activities
  • Assist in electrical measurements and simulations
  • Complete internship project as per plan 

About you:

  • Aptitude for hardware work(firmware, PCB design, electrical design/measurements) 
  • Good understanding of digital logic and analog concepts 
  • Self-motivated & a strong team player 
  • Good debugging and analytical skills 
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies 
  • Prior experience on any one of the following will be a plus Experience Assembly/C/C++ programming on any micro-processor or micro-controller  
  • Knowledge of any of the industry standard protocols(UART, SPI, I2C, USB) Knowledge of storage protocols (SATA, SAS, PCIe)
  • Hands on working experience with tools like logic analyzer and oscilloscope 
     

Your experience includes:

  • Firmware or software development (C/C++/Assembly/Scripting languages)
  • Board bring-up and debugging
  • Working with tools like logic analyzer, protocol analyzers
  • PCB schematic design and layout
  • Electrical signal measurements and analysis using an Oscilloscope
  • Good to have: Understanding of interface protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, PCIE, SAS, SATA
